“I joined LSCO about 20 years ago, when LSRHS students were still receiving academic credit for participation in the orchestra. I learned about the orchestra from Dieter Straub, one of Sudbury’s dearly loved violinists, with whom I played in a quartet.
I particularly remember feeling very welcomed by other players, especially a cardiologist in the viola section. For many community residents, an important incentive to join was to play alongside the LSRHS students. I was living in Sudbury at the time, with two children at the high school.
I continue to enjoy and support LSCO because of the people/musicians, mission, challenging and interesting repertoire, and quality of conductors.”
